Wow, how many times have I passed this little place over the years, disregarding it because of its location I guess, I don't know but it has definitely been my loss! Over the past year and half, I have discovered what thousands already knew, that behind the walls of this little place lived an authentic world of traditional mexican cuisine.

As usual, I try to arrive close to opening so as to beat the traditional lunch crowd. Again, everyone else received the same memo and my fellow diners began arriving shortly after I did. I love this place, it seems so warm and friendly and I've grown to look forward to the greeting from the bartender as I open the door. Once inside I feel as if I've been transported to somewhere in Ensenada. It doesn't stop there. The staff greets us and welcomes us to seat ourselves and we do. The menu is packed with wonderful choices and I decide to try the chicken tostada today. The food arrives shortly after we order and it is simply delicious. Those of you who have been following this blog know that cleanliness is a pet peeve of mine and Chiquitas does not let me down.

I would reccommend Chiquitas Mexican Restaurant to anyone searching for the real deal in mexican dining. This is a great place for visitors not familiar with this cultural delight. I advise anyone who has not taken the opportunity to stop by the little place in the middle of the nieghborhood on Home Avenue to make Chiquitas a "Must Do."
